this picture was the best I could get-the glare was awful--but I love how the earrings turned out--they are hammered copper and a wire wrapped with my handspun fiber attatched to them.

I took a book class at Artist and Display taught by Petra Press. This is the front cover. The class was great and Petra is a wonderful teacher. I hope to make more of these. This one has a music theme and I hope to try my hand a calligraphy to write in it the words to a song I wrote many years ago.

Just posted a few pictures of some of my past work and things I've been working on lately. Hope whoever sees them likes them. I've been obsessed with hammering lately-mostly I've used copper wire and a little copper sheeting. I'm taking a class this Thursday night to make hammered copper earrings and a necklace. I'll be learning to do cold joining-I'm really looking forward to it. I swing back and forth between doing jewelry and spinning at my spinning wheel. Talk about two totally different artistic mediums. But, I figured out a way to "marry" them by wrapping fiber around the wire. Its a lot of fun. I try to keep finding new ways to work with my favorite "stuff". I hope some day to feel confident enough to sell some items in my own etsy store--I'm working up to it. It's not the stuff I make I worry about-its the working with the computer-its always a challenge-but I'll get there eventually.

this necklace combines a little of everything-a soldered pendant with a "wish" inside-hammered wire-and a fiber wrapped bead. One of my favorites.

I hammered a fun heart shape and wrapped one side with fiber. The picture doesn't do it justice-I love it and hope to do more.

its hard to see the handspun fibers wrapped on these-and then wrapped again with wire and beads, They are rather large-more for pinning a shawl or a scarf.

Ahh..technology!

I'm very far from being techno-savy, but I'm feeling pretty good about getting a picture up for the header of this blog. It took some time and lots of head scratching, but there it is. I grabbed bits and pieces from my stash and the cutest little pair of shoes I found at a thrift store. I cut out the title from a printout of a font I liked. Then I took about 50 pictures. Different angles, different settings, moving the stuff around. It really was a lot of fun, and I surprised myself at how good most of the pictures turned out. I went through and trashed the not so great ones and kept a few. I hope to use them to make some business cards. So, now that that is done, I need to take some more baby steps to tackle more cool stuff. I feel like I could use a tutor to help me get through some of the tough stuff, but I still try, and learn by my mistakes. I learn a lot!

I entered an essay contest to win a 170th anniversary Singer sewing machine. It was to celebrate the 12,000 subcribers to a YouTube channe...
