Soapy Fun
I spent my Saturday morning being all "wishy washy". I felted 14 bars of soap. Boy are my hands squeaky clean! I went to the dollar store the other day and bought some soap. The better deals were the Dial and Palmolive that have 3 bars per package. But the nicer stuff is the Yardley-a buck a bar. The square shapes are a little harder to felt nicely -those corners like to stick out. I figured out a good way to lay out the wool-I made small "batts" with my hand carders, and used about 3 layers. This was fun and I plan to hit the dollar store again (after my next paycheck!)

Hey Aunt Kath, Ever try Kirk's Castile soap? Wal-mart carries it for around $4/3 bar pack. We love it as it lathers even in the hardest of water!
ReplyDeleteYour soap looks great! For some reason, I always make an awful mess and they never look nice. Maybe I shouldn't use the rectangle bars.
