Bears revisited.
A friend and I challenged each other to make a teddy bear, something we haven't done in quite a while. Both of us were bear artists a few years back, doing bear shows and teaching classes, and being neck deep in mohair and bear parts. Life changes put us on different tracks and neither of us makes much in the way of bears anymore. This one little challenge opened up the floodgates of how much I enjoyed making the furry little guys. I've been bitten by the bug again. Not sure if it's something I'll get totally involved in again-but I plan to make a few and see what happens.

Your bear is just so sweet and adorable! I would love to have a little bear like that and I would knit all kinds of sweaters, hats and scarves for him. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree looks like a girl. Wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteYour bear is beautiful! I can see where they would be addictive to make with each one being totally unique.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. Love the creativity you find everywhere.
ReplyDeleteYour bear would make some child a great companion. Beautiful color. What type of fiber did you use? I understand you feelings about getting back to a hobby left behind. I've spent this weekend working on a sewing project myself. It feels good.
ReplyDeleteKathi, you're the best! I own several (over a dozen) of your bears and they are always proudly displayed. I'm going back to making bears too. I miss it. I like not having to sit at the sewing machine for hours and hours. Lots of hand sewing involved, so you can do it anywhere. But you are definitely the most talented bear artist that I know of anywhere. Can't wait to see what else you come up with! I'm always open to adding to the collection!
