Pretty in Pink

I decided to dye some more pinks.  I used koolaid for the paler pink, and a mix of beet juice and madder for the darker shade.  The wool is Coopworth.  I hope to get this processed before the Tour de Fleece on Ravelry starts this Saturday.  I plan to spin a bunch of skeins of art yarn.  "Plan"  That's a big word.

I also received a gift from a friend.  She thought it was fiber related.  I think so, too.  But-I don't have a clue what it is.   It's too big to be a drop spindle,(it's about 15" tall)  and it doesn't seem to be a niddy noddy.  Anyone have any clues?

  1. Two of my favorites, pink and Coopworth, can't wait to see what you spin up with this combo!

  2. Do the cross pieces move on the shaft of that apparatus? It's quite intriguing. Best wishes for a successful Tour de Fleece.

  3. Plan... huh does not compute. I'll have to dye and wash up a lot of fiber before Sunday. Good luck and can't wait to see what you'll be spinning up!

  5. I was going to guess niddy noddy too, but I have no idea.

  7. Hi, Kathi! I like your blog! I can so relate to a "late blooming, frustrated artist trying to get her art out there!" And the whole bit about not working for someone else! I found out about you through Carolyn Brady and Mel Kolstad! Nice to "meet" you!
